Thanks, everyone. So far I think I have photos of the bluebells which have spread and are covering all the lower slopes of the mountain this year. (I have to get things onto the monitor to see them well and am waiting for a USB cable to arrive.) Haven't had much time because of many appointments and catching up housework, etc., now that the surgeon has discharged me and the arm can be used for all but heavy lifting. As Steve said, the weather is wonderful , which is especially unusual for North Wales. :-) Hope to be posting fossil pics soon.

Steve: The blind leading the blind? :-D When I'm more comfortable with the images, I'll post the bluebell mountain in the pub. Great camera! (Thanks, again, Peter!)

Peter.... thanks... I just pushed the camera onto the eyepiece of a binocular microscope...I was shown this can be effective by someone once...
Joe.... Would we need greater magnification to know if megaspores are present?....I only got 8.75x

For I me, I would bypass the microscope and shoot with a camera that can take extension tubes/ bellows for macro work ..... sharper than a microscope and cheaper too.... PL
