That is good news. Having had a quick look, they clearly don't think we're going to be any serious competition! ;-) I can see the logic of the arguments for just shipping us all over there, but most of the discussion there is on US localities; here we have something of a UK specialism, and something of a Palaeozoic invertebrate focus, so it does cater for a slightly different audience. We're also hoping for more of the in-depth discussions that turn up on most fora, but then that will depend on the subjects!
Have created a Molluscs board, but fish can stay in vertebrates (at least for now).

Thanks Joe I am very happy how the board is shaping up ... I have even posted links on Facebook with regards to digital imaging with pleas of joining this forum... that is why dino dragon is also here.... I joined this forum because of the invertebrate focus and because my main focus is Silurain and older eras and weird soft bodied critters... thanks for creating the molluscs forum... the fish to invertebrate is fine.... Peter

Today is the first I have heard of this "Old as the Hills". I am for and will participate in any forum that gets people sharing my same interests (fossils). Even though I am far from the other side of the pond; I find the UK has fossils that are so cosmopolitan as to be found here (USA) and many other parts of the world that the internet services. The advice "keep active" is good for personal health and that of struggling websites.
