Here is my first conodont find discovered Dec 23, 2010 by random chance size = 1mm Picture imaged with double bellows and 50mm Zeiss Tessar lens attached to DSLR Sigma SD10. part counterpart On this same plate a potential pyritized Devonian worm (not shown) is currently being studied by the ROM may be the 2nd one ever found in this particular area...

Nice one, Peter - these are satisfying when you find a microfossil on a bedding plane. Next challenge is to get the whole assemblage (all together or isolated, just as good!). After that it's acritarch-hunting time. I've only ever had acritarchs on bedding planes at one site, but that shows it is possible...

Thank you Steve and Joe: The funny thing was that I wasn't even looking for one.... I needed a test subject for my new optics to test out... took a piece of shale wacked it ... split open there was a possible prized worm and this conodont that came into view with the new equipment.... I barely could see 1mm....
