Hi all, Thought I'd migrate over here from the Fossil Forum as per Peter(pleecan)'s suggestion, since they are dominated by vertebrate people while you guys are geared more to the invertebrates, as I am... I'm not a professional or anything either, just a hobbyist, but where I live it is mostly Mesozoic (esp. Cretaceous) but I have an interest in the Paleozoic and Precambrian as well.. I have acquired a number of Paleoz. fossils from other people, which I don't know much about, so I may call on some of you for help with these from time to time! (Currently organizing my collection) I hope the site doesn't fold! Eric

Hi Eric, and thanks for coming over! We'll do our best, and there's begining to be a substantial Canafian contingent to help out where we fail miserably!

Good to see you Eric! Welcome to the forum. Why not post some of your cambrian and pre cambrian material and anything else you wish to share. Looking forward to your post Eric! Peter

Thanks guys.. and Peter, I have a few Cambrian trilos, pretty sure I know their ID, and only one Precambrian fossil (a rather humble Nemiana from Ukraine, I'm sure you've seen them)... do you want me to post them anyway? I have a number of Paleozoic corals that I need ID'd, or at least suggestions for location of origin, because I didnt collect them myself - I have a lot of orphaned fossils from all geologic eras but mostly from North America I assume - will get posting as soon as I get around to it.

Hi & welcome, Eric
I'm not much help but I love to look at everything. Especially Paleozoic corals. Most of mine are sorted by 'probably lithostrotion' (most of them) and 'probably not lithostrotion'. A few are 'definitely not lithostrotion'. They are erratics and I couldn't find any good sources for (probably Carboniferous) corals. (See why I keep quiet, Peter?) :-)

I like to look at them too, even if I dont know what they are, but it's so much better if I have some idea of either what it's called or where it's from.. and maybe one will lead to the other. (I hope) I would already have some things posted but I find the whole process of taking pics and editing and uploading them to be a bit of a drag! Will get to it at some point.

I know that feeling. A lot of my corals are posted in my lengthy introduction, if you want to compare them to yours.
