From the Brigantian shale again, shown just popped out of the matrix. 5mm long and 1mm thick, the other side looks the same and the spikes form a fringe around the equator. Thanks, Attachments:

Yep, nice ossicle. A lot of these crinoids have pretty distinctive-looking ossicles... for the Ordovician there's an entire monograph on isolated columnals, but I don't know of anyone having done the work for the Carboniferous. Looks like a productive little site you've got there!

Thanks Joe, there are plenty of other crinoid bits from here but nothing else like this one so far. It is a nice site and a nearby shale (next cyclothem up) even has trilobites.
