Beautiful preservation. Just a thought, though - Lingula is normally more square-ended in my limited experience (and it really is limited)... could this be something like Lingulella instead? You'd need to look up the specific reports on the local fauna, I suspect, since you can't see things like muscle scars on the interior.

Joe:Thanks for the diagnostics... Yes... I was amazed by the state of preservation... found perpendicular to the bedding plane.... it could be a Lingulella ... as I normally don't collect brachiopods... thus not that familiar .... PL
