Hi Steve: Have not really counted as there is more going into the rock several carapace and at least 2 telsons... specimens are disarticulated but appear oriented due to current flows during deposition.... the first photo shows the corner that lifted showing a trail of phyllocarid parts going into the main rock... It appears to be in 2 horizons separated by an inch ..... the plate is fragile when I hit it with the hammer breaking into multiple fragments which then revealed the phyllocarid cluster... it was a chance event ie accidental find.

Peter.... Excellent... Intresting about the directional deposition related to current flow.... '' accidental find ''... I concur... I 'trip' over most of mine to although its nice to think you know what doing ...

You're both inspiring me to get the house disruptions under control and at least try to get some photos of my (unprepped) (probably run of the mill) (fragmented) treasures. :-)

Once the loft is insulated and I have surfaces again, I'll go back to trying to work out the ageing issues. I have a tripod to stabilise the camera but also bought a cheap webcam microscope so I can see what I'm looking at on the monitor. Haven't tried that software yet... Looking at your photos of apparatus, Peter, I feel a little silly. :-)
