Joe... Thanks... It would be interesting to see if the adjacent limestone the nautilus was in would of been so heavily populated with debris... none came with it unfortunately or Ider been looking....

I spotted this little chunk of rock whilst a friend was using my rucksack... Its been bashing about in the waves for years and was rounded... I thought it might look good on my 'doubes' shelf if its upto scratch... Attachments:

This ones a nightmare from the north Somerset coast... Very tough rock and difficult to differentiate between matrix and fossil at this early stage having a very thin shell... Very slow progress.... Could be my best find this year or it could be a dud....Chance I gotta take... Attachments:

I found this on the Somerset coast on Friday after going back to a beach to find my hammer I left... I got my hammer back to... I might give this a try next.... Attachments:

Heres the double Plagiostoma gigantea before I started...It had about 2 foot of rock behind it and as I trimmed it down to a size I could move the very end cracked off... Sods law!... Come out nice in the end though...I was hoping they were a 'pair' but I think they are the same hand.... I shall have to keep looking for a pair... Attachments:
