All done.... I didnt realise how big it was to be honest.... a 17 incher.... Quite a rare shell for the Somerset coast, certainly in this condition... Its lost a couple of ribs in the 150 foot tumble down the cliff but all in all a pretty nice specimen.... I think... Due to the nodes... Parcoroniceras charlsei....Sinemurian north Somerset Coast....

Wish I were more articulate, but... Wow! :-) Impressive work on a really nice specimen yielding a beautiful display piece. It's interesting to watch the stages of the prep. Again, thanks for sharing!

reighan... Thanks... When I try to load images now I am getting an error message saying the files are too big... When they are not... Perhaps its a bug on the forum or something...

That's frustrating. Hope it gets sorted. I'm getting e-mailed notifications in duplicate. I'd assumed it was due to something I did but maybe another bug?

That's a bit weird, Steve... is it still a problem?
Will see what I can dig up about this...

:-( We used to post links to files in Photobucket or something. Is that still an option? (Hopefully, temporary)

reighan.... I dont use those things... I just usually upload straight from the pc... The message I'm getting says... '' This forum has exceeded its attachment space limit... Your file cannot be uploaded..'' Maybe Joe can increase the attachment space limit somehow... Which probably costs at a guess....

The direct uploads are easier for the viewer too. Maybe there's a way to archive older stuff whilst keeping it accessible without incurring charges? Is Roy still lurking?

reighan... it looks like we will have to see what Joe says when he returns...Thanks for the suggestions... Wow... it seems I do exist after all! Really sorry for the absence, folks. Anyhow, it is possible to increase the storage capacity of attachments (for a monthly fee, of course), but I don't see why we can't carry on linking images that are hosted elsewhere... hmm... let's see... Sibinia sodalis by Joe Botting, on Flickr Anyhow, I'm looking at better long-term options for the forum at the moment, so will keep you posted on how it all pans out. Maybe a fresh start with a more user-friendly one will tempt more people to post as well. We'll see...

Yep, I guess that still works fine! That's using the BB code, in square bracket format, copied and pasted directly from Flickr; I'm sure Photobucket and various other free hosting services will work just as well.
